Following an appearance on Spike TV’s ‘PlayStation All Access’ event ahead of the launch of the PlayStation 4, the existence of an Uncharted game on Sony’s next generation console has been revealed and confirmed by Naughty Dog.

In a post on the developer’s official blog, Naughty Dog wrote:

“We have great news for all our Uncharted fans – Amy, Justin, and the team are hard at work on an amazing new installment of the Uncharted series to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 system. Our goal is to continue what we’ve done in previous console generations and once again deliver the best in storytelling, performance capture, technical innovation and graphics on the PS4.”

Don’t miss the game’s debut teaser trailer below, and hear the bitter monologue of what sounds like an older gentleman speaking about his hardships after a supposed partner or friend left him for dead. Is that Nathan Drake, perhaps?

Exciting for South African gamers is the chance that we might be visiting some storied locations in the country during the events of this new Uncharted game – if you didn’t catch it the first time, you’ll notice the camera makes its way past the ‘Cape of Good Hope’ (i.e. Cape Town) and continues on along the coast past Durban. Intriguing!

Where in South Africa would you like to see Uncharted set, and which historical events would you like to see discussed?
