Those of you who have been following (and playing) the South African produced Desktop Dungeons will be thrilled to know that the randomly generated roguelike dungeon crawler will be tumbling out of beta next month with an official Steam release planned.
Desktop Dungeons fans (both current and future) can look forward to November 7th to finally get their hands on the ‘final’ release of the game, and if you pre-order now you’ll not only be able to grab it for the discounted price of $13.50 (as opposed to the full price of $15), you’ll also gain access to the currently-on-the-go beta which means instant access. Like, right now.
For the uninitiated, what exactly is Desktop Dungeons? Developer QCF Design sums it up rather well on its website, writing:
“Desktop Dungeons is a quick-play roguelike puzzle game that gives you roughly 10 minutes of dungeon-crawling action per serving. It straddles the casual and hardcore boundary in that, while you might die frequently because the game is tricky and unforgiving, it’s so approachable and quick to get into that you keep wanting just one more round.”
