You may already know all about Call of Duty: Ghosts with information about its singleplayer campaign, multiplayer features and brand new game modes buzzing about in your brain, but what do you know about something called ‘Extinction?’
Let’s start with what we know…
Yesterday, the official Call of Duty account posted an Instagram video of a morphing logo, changing from the now known Call of Duty: Ghosts ‘skull’ into something… much more alien.
You can watch that video below:
More recently, a batch of screen grabs have made their way onto the ‘net supposedly showing a new game mode to debut in Call of Duty: Ghosts, with the words ‘Extinction,’ ‘Space Bugs’ and ‘aliens’ all visible, while referencing some kind of team-based game mode where you can choose between different classes including a ‘tank,’ ‘weapon specialist,’ ‘medic’ or ‘engineer.’
You can see all of the available screen grabs over here.
What is Extinction in Call of Duty: Ghosts? It’s more than likely an entirely new game mode created by Infinity Ward to match the other additional Call of Duty staple in Treyarch’s games, Zombie mode.
Is this something that you would necessarily want or would you rather Infinity Ward focussed on creating the game’s core multiplayer and solo campaigns?
Call of Duty: Ghosts is out on November 5th across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U, and will be a Xbox One and PS4 launch title in both the US and Europe.
