We’ve seen some outrageous special versions of videogames over the years with collector’s editions including everything from amazingly crafted figures to remote-controlled toys, severed torsos and themed tin containers filled with goodies.
Yesterday, EA and Respawn Entertainment announced an incredibly impressive collector’s edition for Titanfall, which includes (amongst other things) an 18″ diorama statue of the game’s titan. As nice as this CE is, however, the price is a whopping $250, or R2450 / £155 (not taking into consideration import taxes and retailer mark-ups).
Also included in the package is a 190-page artbook and a poster, while the titan statue is LED-lit. Have they shot too far with this CE and made it too exclusive?
What is the absolute maximum amount of cash you would spend on a special edition of a game that you were really looking forward to? What kinds of special versions have you already picked up that cost a pretty penny, but you don’t regret buying?
