EA and developer Respawn Entertainment have today announced a March 2014 release date for the pair’s upcoming multiplayer-focussed first-person shooter, Titanfall, revealing that the game will land on Xbox One, PC and Xbox 360 on March 11th in North America, March 13th in Europe and March 14th in the UK.
The news follows the tease of a “special announcement” yesterday, which many believed to be news of an upcoming beta. In a statement, co-creator of Call of Duty and co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella said:
“Since we revealed the game in June we’ve been absolutely blown away by the reaction to Titanfall. The feedback we’re getting from fans around the world is fueling our team as we head towards March and motivating us to deliver an experience that lives up to the hype.”
In addition to the date news, Respawn has announced a Collector’s Edition of the game (for an estimated retail price of $249.99) which includes “an exclusive collectible 18” hand-crafted titan statue with diorama and battery-powered LED lighting, a full-size art book featuring more than 190 pages of rare concept art, and an exclusive full-size schematic poster of the Atlas titan.”
