The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds may share many elements with previous entries in this established Nintendo franchise but it also looks set to expand on The Legend of Zelda lore by featuring an all-new kingdom called Lorule as well as a new princess named Hilda.
Nintendo recently unveiled a new story trailer for the game showing how Link can transition between Hyrule and Lorule by transforming into a 2D cave painting and slipping between cracks in walls which separate the two worlds. Interestingly, the game’s producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed during a panel at NYCC that Lorule is its own world rather than being a dark, mirrored version of Hyrule as was the case in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds’ predecessor, A Link to the Past.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be released exclusively for 3DS on November 22nd in the US and European territories.
