State of Decay players have been surviving in the wild against hordes of zombies for many months, with a few feature updates and challenges provided by developer Undead Labs via a series of title updates, but you’ll soon be able to take a fresh new bite out of the game with the release of the upcoming downloadable content, Breakdown.
State of Decay: Breakdown aims to provide an even greater challenge for seasoned players by tweaking the game’s values relating to things like your vulnerability, speed, transportation availability, resource scarcity and more – the team has outlined some of the changes in a post over here.
But what’s the latest news on Breakdown?
Undead Labs has revealed that the DLC has been sent to Microsoft for certification which means a lot of testing and bug stomping work ahead, before a planned release later this month – from the team’s blog explaining what’s happening with Breakdown right now:
“First, our excellent QA team at Microsoft will spin up multiple teams on two continents for around-the-clock testing. Most of these guys were involved with State of Decay, so they are not only able to find bugs — which is always an essential task — but also help us understand where we are and are not hitting the mark for the survival experience we’re working hard to create. These guys are hard-working, passionate badasses, and we’re glad they’ve got our backs.”
That’s incredibly interesting knowing how hands-on the certification team at Microsoft is. If all goes according to plan, Undead Labs “plan on getting Breakdown into your hands by the end of October.”
Are you looking forward to the extra challenge of Breakdown? Or do you not know what this ‘State of Decay’ thing is all about? Not to worry, you can read El33tonline’s State of Decay review to find out most everything you need to know.
