Last month Namco Bandai Games revealed how Dark Souls fans in PAL territories could get into the Dark Souls II beta which kicks off on October 12th on PS3. Now the publisher has shared details regarding the beta sign-up process (or lack thereof) for fans in North and South America, revealing that beta invites will be sent out on the PlayStation Network at 11am PDT today (October 8th) for the initial testing round which begins on October 12th.
More than 5 000 PSN users will receive a beta invite in their XMB message inbox but only the first 5 000 people to download the beta client will be eligible for the first round of testing.
The second round of beta testing will commence on October 26th in North and South America and for this round thousands of select users will receive a XMB message at 11am PDT on October 22nd. This code will also be posted on the Dark Souls II Facebook page so that fans can get into the beta on a first come, first served basis.
Dark Souls II will be released on March 11th in the US and March 14th in European territories for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Head over here for El33tonline’s previous coverage of the latest entry in this much-loved series.
