Earlier this year Sony announced the PlayStation app for iOS and Android devices. This app allows PS4 users to trigger remote download on their consoles, send and receive PlayStation Network messages, watch PS4 games being live streamed and much more besides.
PS Vita users will get a special version of this app called ‘PS4 Link’ and President of Worldwide Studios at SCE, Shuhei Yoshida, recently confirmed via Twitter that the app will arrive on the handheld with its next firmware update. You can see his exchange on the subject below:

Another feature that’s expected to arrive with the next PS Vita system update is the ability to wirelessly transfer data between the handheld and PS3. This functionality was built into the latest PS3 firmware update but won’t be operational until the PS Vita receives new system software.
