Ace Attorney fans received a welcome surprise during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct broadcast when a company representative announced that a demo for the upcoming 3DS exclusive, Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, was available on the Nintendo eShop.
The demo features a section from the beginning of the game where you get to sample its beautifully produced anime cutscenes, catchy soundtrack, and see some of the series’ most popular characters both rendered and broadcast in 3D thanks to the 3DS’ stereoscopic capabilities. Believe me when I say that it’s quite a revelation the first time you see the camera panning around the courtroom since past Ace Attorney games have all been strictly 2D affairs.
Capcom also revealed that players can pick up alternate costumes for Phoenix, Athena and Apollo free of charge if they purchase Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies between October 24th and November 7th, after which they will cost $0.99.
Here’s a new trailer showing the game’s opening cinematic produced by Japanese anime studio Bones, along with some screencaps taken from later scenes:
Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies will be available for $29.99/€24.99 via the Nintendo eShop on October 24th in the US and European territories.
