Yesterday Nintendo held a special Monster Hunter 4 themed video presentation ahead of the 3DS exclusive’s launch this coming Saturday, September 14th. ‘Monster Hunter 4 Direct’ made it clear that the game will feature many costumes and items which pay homage to some of Nintendo’s most popular franchises, including Mario and Luigi costumes for players’ Felyne comrades and a full-on Link costume, character model and weapons seemingly based on his design from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
The Mario Bros. costumes will initially be obtainable via “special quests” at 7-Elevens across Japan, while the Link costume and assorted weapons will only be made available at a future, unannounced date.
