Since the introduction of the PS Vita Sony has taken some major strides with regard to creating a PlayStation ecosystem where console connectivity is a clear focus. This can be seen in certain PlayStation Network features such as Cross-save and Cross-play which allow PS3 and PS Vita games to share save files and servers.
Now the president of Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida, has confirmed that cross-platform Party Chat between PS4 and PS Vita players will be supported. Responding to a fan’s query about the feature on Twitter, Yoshida simply answered, “yes.”
Previously we knew that PS4 would support cross-game chat but this is the first time we’ve received official confirmation that both consoles’ Party Chat feature will be seamlessly connected.
