In addition to revealing that Plants vs Zombies 2 had passed 16 million downloads worldwide and broken launch records, PopCap Games also announced new features and modes for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare during EA’s gamescom press conference yesterday.
The developer revealed that players would be able to enjoy playable Zombie classes, a first for the franchise, in Garden Warfare. We also saw the new Boss Mode in action, which includes Kinect and Xbox SmartGlass gameplay, and the character customisation (for both the plants and zombies classes) that will be possible in the game.

You can see the new Boss Mode in the trailer below, demonstrated by none other than Dr Zomboss:
Garden Warfare will feature 24 player multiplayer action, where players can choose either the plants or zombies side, as well as four player online co-op where players will need to team up to protect their garden from the zombie horde and powerful bosses. The Xbox One version of the game will also feature a two player split-screen co-op mode.
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare will be available for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in Spring 2014.
