Before the festivities of gamescom 2013 explode tomorrow and ahead of what promise to be incredibly exciting press conferences tonight hosted by EA, Sony and Microsoft, El33tonline took some time out to attend the first day of the European edition of Game Developers Conference.
The last time the team attended GDC Europe was back in 2010, and while visitors were enthusiastic the show paled in comparison to something like GDC in San Francisco. Here in 2013, however, the event seems to have grown by leaps and bounds.
For one thing, I don’t remember there being quite so many people and so much activity and booths, but GDC is mostly about the talks and lectures delivered by industry experts and professionals that aim to teach other game developers about the trade.
We were fortunate enough to sit in on a number of these talks on the first day of GDC Europe (listening to Palmer Lucky at Oculus VR, Dino Dini speaking about Kick Off, amongst others) and we intend doing the same on the second day, today.
We snapped a few photos and videos of our time trawling the GDC 2013 showfloor, which you can view below, but we’ll also be chatting about some of the more interesting talks that we attended soon.
