In addition to announcing that all Xbox One pre-orders would come bundled with FIFA 14 in Europe at the Xbox gamescom press conference held in Cologne, Germany earlier today, Microsoft also revealed that the Ultimate Team Legends would be exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Legendary footballers Freddie Ljungberg and Ruud Gullit were on stage to announce this exclusive offering, and were also confirmed to be two of the first Legends to join the Ultimate Team.
Ultimate Team is said to be the most popular mode in FIFA – over 3 million games are played daily with over 17 million players transferred daily.
“Each Legend will have their own distinct look, unique attributes, and custom biography, and will be randomly included in Gold Packs in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team on Xbox One and Xbox 360.”
Players will be able to acquire Legends in packs or through the Transfer Market, and later compete with their squads in tournaments. Each legend will only be available in packs for a limited time and at different times throughout the season.
“We’re thrilled to bring legendary footballers to ‘FIFA 14’ Ultimate Team on Xbox. Only on Xbox will you be able to terrorize defenses with a dream partnership of Messi with the legendary Pelé,” said Bilbey, EA SPORTS Senior Vice President and Group General Manager.
