In addition to the ‘Clash in the Clouds’ challenge mode downloadable content for Bioshock Infinite, Irrational has revealed the first in a two-part singleplayer add-on for the game in the form of ‘Burial at Sea,’ which will not only return players to the underwater dystopia first seen in the original Bioshock, but will also allow us to play as Bioshock Infinite’s Elizabeth for the first time.
Releasing later this year, Burial at Sea features a brand new story for both protagonist Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth, this time set in Rapture before it crumbled into disarray, leading to the events of Bioshock. Creative director of Irrational Games Ken Levine commented:
“We are really excited to offer our fans the content that they have been asking for… With the Burial at Sea episodes, we are building a Rapture-based narrative experience that is almost entirely built from scratch.”
Burial at Sea for Bioshock Infinite will be available in two parts individually for $15 / 1200 MS Points, or at no additional cost as part of the game’s season pass. Watch the announcement trailer for the upcoming singleplayer DLC below:
