Borderlands 2 DLC to bring new level cap increase, but you’ll have to payWritten by: / / 7 Comments
Last week Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford confirmed plans to chat about new downloadable content heading to Borderlands 2, and true to his word the developer announced the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2, along with various other add-ons and niceties for players of the first-person action RPG.
According to details emerging from a panel hosted by Gearbox at PAX Australia, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will add eleven new experience levels to Borderlands 2, allowing you to grind past the current cap of 61 all the way to 72. Also included in the pack will be the ‘Digistruct Peak Challenge’ map and the “ability to ‘over level’ your game for extra challenges.” The pack will go for $5 when it’s released later this year and will not be covered by the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.
An additional piece of DLC, the ‘Headhunter Pack: T.K. Baha’s Bloody Harvest,’ is also out this year which includes a new mission and a boss battle with the titular T.K. Baha (who first appeared in the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC in the original Borderlands) as well as a fight with a giant pumpkin character, Jacques O’Lantern, with character customisations your reward for beating them. More Headhunter packs are due out soon, too.
As for what Gearbox will be releasing for free this year, Borderlands 2 players will get extra ammo capacity, as well as more backpack and vault slots, and a few more character customisation options.
Lastly, if you’re a Gearbox superfan, you’ll want to find out about the Gearbox Community Day on September 14th – more details are promised soon.
What do you think of this DLC announcement? Were you hoping for more campaign DLC or a new character? Are you going to pay for the extra level cap increase (along with the extras)?
