There have been rumblings for a while now that Kingdom Hearts III was in development but with Square Enix’s recent financial woes it was unclear if the game had entered full production.
During Sony’s E3 press conference series creator Tetsuya Nomura presented fans with a brief trailer showing the franchise’s main protagonist Sora picking up his keyblade from the sands of Destiny Islands and then running away from some heartless in a familiar-looking town. All the action looks like its rendered in-engine and comes remarkably close to replicating the graphical fidelity of the CG cut-scenes Square Enix is famous for. Take a look below:
