If you happened to be at the recent DBNGamers Dead Island Event this past Friday, in addition to the food, friends and festivities of the get-together you would also have heard an exciting piece of news straight Alexia Scotten and Quinton Davie of South African distributor, Apex Interactive.

Telltale Games’ outstanding five-part adventure game series, The Walking Dead, is coming to South African retailers courtesy of Apex Interactive!

The Walking Dead Banner

Originally released as a downloadable series made available over the course of a few months, the retail version of The Walking Dead includes all five parts of the thrilling tale on one disc:

“The world we knew is gone. The dead have risen to feed on the living. The living cannot be trusted. Starving. Never safe. Looking for hope. What would you do?

“The Walking Dead is a game where choice matters. Your choice. The decisions you make in the game can have far-reaching consequences affecting how your story plays out. From the seemingly mundane to the horror of being forced to choose who lives and who dies, the game engine is tracking everything you do to deliver a tailored game experience.”

El33tonline’s reviews of the original parts to the Walking Dead bestowed full scores to each portion of the series, doling high praise on each episode while noting Telltale Games’ focus on intense story-telling and meaningful narrative, with decisions that affected the course of the game and how characters reacted to you in the future. It made for a powerful concoction that earned Telltale over 80 ‘Game of the Year’ nominations – unheard of for a game of its genre.

The Walking Dead from Telltale Games will hit South African retailers on May 31st, and will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for R399.95, and on PC for R299.95.

Will you be diving into The Walking Dead for the first time this month, or buying the retail version to re-live those nail-biting decisions all over again?
