Bethesda Softworks has today (finally) announced the game it has been teasing all week, revealing ‘The Evil Within,’ a survival horror game from Tango Gameworks and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.
Mikami said of The Evil Within:
“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within. My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”
According to Bethesda, The Evil Within’s “[highly-crafted] environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story weave together to create an immersive world that will bring players to the height of tension.”
The Evil Within is currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and next generation consoles, slated for release in 2014 – watch the game’s debut teaser trailer below (not for the faint of heart!):
