If you had a Sega Mega Drive in the early 1990s then you may remember that a game called “Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse” was one of the most popular platformers for the console before Sonic the Hedgehog spun onto the scene in 1991.
Yesterday Sega released a trailer simply titled “Summer 2013” which strongly suggests that a Castle of Illusion remake is on the way due to references to the game’s antagonist Mizrabel along with her toy soldier minions. At the end of the trailer we see “é 1990, 2013 Disney” in small print which further reinforces this theory as the original game was released in 1990. Furthermore, Castle of Illusion has popped up on both the Australian and Brazilian Classification rating boards, with the latter rating the game for Xbox 360, Wii U, PS3 and PS Vita.
