Last week the first downloadable content for Tomb Raider was released in the form of the Cliffs and Caves multiplayer add-on content. Crystal Dynamics have since confirmed that all of the upcoming DLC for the game would be focused on multiplayer.
According to Tomb Raider global brand director Karl Stewart “There are currently no plans in place for any Single Player expansions. All of our DLC is based around the Multiplayer experience for now.”
So what then is Lara Croft: Reflections?
Siliconera has unearthed a trademark that was filed by Square Enix Europe in the United States for Lara Croft: Reflections. If we consider Stewart’s comments then we may be looking at a smaller project, something similar to the excellent Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
Of course there is still the possibility that singleplayer DLC is in the planning stages at Crystal Dynamics since the team is only focussed on multiplayer ‘for now.’
What would you hope to see next from Crystal Dynamics – a continuation of the Tomb Raider story with new singleplayer DLC, or a totally new game along the lines of Guardian of Light?
