First unveiled in May 2006, Final Fantasy Versus XIII was originally announced as a PS3 exclusive but has been notably absent from every videogame expo and trade show since the Tokyo Game Show in 2010.
Last July Square Enix’s CEO Yoichi Wada claimed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was still in development yet we haven’t heard any official announcements regarding it since then nor seen any new footage of the game since January 2011.
Now VGleaks reports that the game’s development was shifted to PS4 two years ago and Sony has been co-developing it with Square Enix in a supporting capacity ever since. According to VGleaks, the game was renamed to Final Fantasy XV in the middle of this process.
During the recently held PlayStation Meeting Square Enix promised that we would be seeing more Final Fantasy at this year’s E3 in June. Will we finally see what Final Fantasy Versus XIII has transformed into during this event?
