Gears of War fans will no doubt be very aware that the next game in the series, Gears of War: Judgment, is out this Friday representing a new era for the franchise complete with a brand new prequel story, important control tweaks, multiplayer changes and all-new competitive online game modes.

The launch of Judgment on March 22nd will also very likely mark the end of Gears of War 3’s reign as the most popular Gears of War game online, as both casual and hardcore multiplayer enthusiasts move over to the new title to get to grips with Domination, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, not to mention the new class-based game type, OverRun.

Since the launch of Gears of War 3 in September 2011, El33tonline and Community Leader Jody Williams (jGLZA) have run weekly (and regular) Gears of War Wednesday community evenings to act as a way for both veteran and newer Gears players to play together without the stresses of clan matches and without having to convince friends to join.

It’s been an opportunity for members of the local gaming community to simply show up on Xbox LIVE and have a good ol’ Gears of War time with friends and strangers alike, and we think the evenings have been very successful is not only promoting Gears of War but in bringing the community together for a single purpose – having fun.

With the launch of Gears of War: Judgment this week, we’ll be bringing back our full support of Gears of War Wednesday, and we hope you’ll continue to support the evening, too, now and in the future.
