Bringing Life to Virtual Life: The making of Bioshock Infinite’s Elizabeth

Irrational Games and creative director Ken Levine have never been content sticking to a formula and working within themselves, but instead constantly push past their own boundaries from one game to the next.

Even with licensed games like SWAT 4 and Tribes: Vengeance, Irrational was able to bring the team’s own unique flair to someone else’s universe, while System Shock 2, Freedom Force and Bioshock all set benchmarks for character writing, story telling and world development.

In Bioshock Infinite, the Irrational team has used its immense talent and experience to once again deliver a game that other developers will no doubt be envious of.

In the latest developer diary for the game, members of the team and acting crew talk about how they’ve worked together to bring believable life to the game’s most important character, Elizabeth, while speaking with the women that were instrumental in her creation:

Bioshock Infinite is out on March 26th around the world, across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
