Sony has announced that Pottermore – J.K. Rowling’s interactive website for the Harry Potter series – will soon expand into the PS3’s free 3D gaming community PlayStation Home.
Available from next month, ‘Pottermore at PlayStation Home’ will initially feature two virtual environments based on Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express that contain four mini-games including Book Herding, a Pottermore quiz, Pottermore card-trading, and Wizard’s Duel.
Charlie Redmayne, CEO of Pottermore, comments: “Pottermore reaches across multiple digital platforms, and our ongoing partnership with Sony has allowed us to forge this exciting connection with Playstation Home, creating the most immersive experience possible within that space and giving users wonderful new ways to explore locations from the Harry Potter stories. Following the successful launch of Wonderbook: Book of Spells, this is another example of the creative collaborations Pottermore is developing to bring the world of Harry Potter even more ingeniously to life”.
You’ll be rewarded for visiting Pottermore at PlayStation Home with a free set of school robes for your avatar, and players with existing Pottermore.com accounts will want to link them with their PlayStation Network IDs to gain access to additional content and spaces.
