Award-winning indie adventure Machinarium out next week on PS Vita

The PS Vita’s software library has improved dramatically since launching in February last year, although there still aren’t very many adventure games available for the handheld. Thankfully Czech studio Amanita Design has announced that its award-winning point-and-click adventure Machinarium will soon be in the hands of PS Vita owners.

Out next Tuesday (March 26th) for $6.99 on the US PlayStation Store, the PS Vita version of Machinarium includes all the enhancements that were added to last year’s PS3 game as well as a couple of new additions. These include optional touch controls and an improved zoom feature that’s optimised for a portable device like the PS Vita.

The game will also feature PSN leaderboards that reveal how your completion time and mini-game scores stack up against the rest of the world.

Amanita Design has confirmed that the game is also headed to European territories in the near future so we’ll keep you updated when an official release date is announced.

Have you played Machinarium on other platforms or will the PS Vita version be the first time you’re exposed to this indie classic? Let us know in the comments.
