Embattled SimCity players can choose from this list of free EA games to download for their troubles

SimCity launch week didn’t exactly go as planned. EA knows this. Developer Maxis knows this. You know this. We all know this.

Now, however, it’s time to look to a prosperous future as the mayor of your very own city and surveyor of your own region of cities. It’s time to enjoy the product that Maxis has been working on to serve up to SimCity fans. In short, it’s time for forgiveness to take place.

In an effort to help this healing process begin, EA and Maxis have announced the proposed list of free games that you as a SimCity owner are now able to choose from as a way of making amends for the troubles you may have experienced at launch as the game remained unreliably available to play for over a week.

From March 22nd, and if you register (or have registered) your copy of SimCity before March 25th, you’ll be able to download one of the following games from digital distribution service Origin completely for free (if you do so before March 30th):

  • Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)

  • Bejeweled 3

  • Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)

  • Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)

  • Medal of Honor Warfighter (Standard Edition)

  • Need For Speed Most Wanted (Standard Edition)

  • Plants vs. Zombies

  • SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition

What do you think of the list? You can see the original apology post at EA.com, and read over the official terms and conditions of the offer while you’re there.
