The importance of the introduction of Xbox Achievements as an ‘official’ way to compare your ‘progress as a gamer’ to your friends can’t be understated, as Xbox 360 owners the world over began going to crazy lengths to rack up more of the digital awards, while anecdotal evidence points to multiplatform gamers choosing the Xbox 360 version of a game over the PlayStation 3 equivalent simply to continue their Achievement progress.
Have you ever become obsessed with Achievements? This Question of the Day asks:
How important are Achievements and Trophies to you?
The question comes at an interesting time when we start to look towards the future of gaming with the next generation of consoles, while looking back at what was successful in the current generation. Will Achievements and Trophies make the transition to Microsoft and Sony’s next devices?
More to the point, are these digital rewards important to you and what insane lengths have you gone to in order to get them? What’s your current GamerScore or Trophy collection looking like?
