The wonderfully rich and achingly detailed world of Dishonored caught many players off guard last year with its incredible approach to stealth gameplay and its range of non-linear gameplay paths that truly allowed you to carve your own path through the story, and the city of Dunwall, too.
We’ve already seen the release of the Dunwall City Trials DLC for Dishonored, and we learned last year that three content packs in total would be made available for the game, the second of which is due in the ‘Spring’ of 2013.
This second add-on concerns the activities of Daud, the leader of a group of supernatural assassins (just like protagonist Corvo). The group is known as ‘The Whalers’ and the DLC is described thus:
“Make your way through new Dunwall locales and discover Daud’s own set of weapons, powers and gadgets in this story-driven campaign,” writes Bethesda. “How you play and the choices you make will impact the final outcome:”
Bethesda recently teased an upcoming announcement related to Dishonored, with news of some kind arriving today. The tease was accompanied by a screenshot (above), and if you use some your Eagle Eye Sense, you can spot a familiar sequence playing out in the far distance.
Is that? Could it be? Could this screenshot allude to the moment at the beginning of Dishonored where the region’s queen is assassinated right before you? Let’s zoom in:
It seems as though the next DLC for Dishonored will allow players to see the events of the game from another perspective, and through the eyes of Corvo’s enemies.
We’ll let you know if our guesses are any good when the announcement is made today, but for now we welcome your stabs at what the screenshot could mean, too.
