Last week I challenged you to guess five titles which encompassed thirteen years of videogame history. Congratulations to Aaron Magulick who guessed four out of five games correctly on his first attempt.
The games featured in last Tuesday’s challenge were:
- Game 1: Soul Blade (PSone) – 1997
- Game 2: Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire (PC/PSone) – 1995
- Game 3: Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom (PC/PSone) – 1996
- Game 4: Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) – 2008
- Game 5: Diddy Kong Racing (N64) – 1997
Anyone who knows my gaming habits knows that I’m a huge fan of portable gaming platforms such as the PS Vita and 3DS. With this in mind, today’s line-up is comprised of handheld titles I’ve enjoyed over the years.
Here they are:
Game 1:
This game was a remake of a popular home console title and offered dozens of hours of gameplay. One of the new features in the remake was the ability to play through the entire game as a female character.
Game 2:
Anyone who has played this game will instantly recognise it from the font/menu style used at the top of the image. This game definitely deserves to be remastered in HD!
Game 3:
The games in this awesome series are deceptively long. You really need to focus on completing it over a holiday break or similar respite from work otherwise you’ll never get through it.
Game 4:
Fans of this particular game from a famous franchise must have been doing cartwheels of joy when the remake (pictured here) was announced. The redone art in this version is great!
Game 5:
I played and finished this game over the December holidays and really enjoyed the experience. It’s not available in digital form yet so I felt fortunate to have discovered this classic going cheap on Kalahari.
Do any of these games look familiar to you? Do you have fond memories associated with one or two of them? Let us know in the comments.
