The greatly exaggerated reports of a 2014 appearance for season two of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead are just that – greatly exaggerated!
A recent firestorm of reports recently did the rounds pointing to a late 2014 release for the second season in Telltale’s excellent series of episodic adventure games based on zombie-infested comic book world of The Walking Dead.
The confusion of when we would see the series’ continuation was exacerbated by talk from The Walking Dead: Episode 4 writer, Gary Whitta (Book of Eli writer and former PC Gamer editor), who said that season two is “a way off” but fans could expect “a little something extra” between the first and second seasons.
Telltale Games proper has come out to say that we can indeed expect season two of The Walking Dead to arrive much sooner than the previously reported late 2014 release window, revealing that the next set of episodes will be with us in the third quarter of 2013.
Speaking to Game Informer, a representative for Telltale Games said:
“The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for fall of ‘this’ year (2013), and not ‘next’ year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale’s series.”
Thank goodness for small mercies!
Have you played the first five-episode season of The Walking Dead from Telltale? Or are you yet to discover the game’s severely intense (and highly enjoyable) scenes and situations?
