At the end of last month Naughty Dog took the bold move of making the competitive multiplayer portion of Uncharted 3 free-to-play. Now that everyone on PSN has access to the game’s multiplayer, what are the developer’s plans for its future?
Speaking to the PlayStation Blog, Uncharted 3 director Justin Richmond said that Naughty Dog isn’t just sending this version out to die but will be supporting the multiplayer side of the game for a long time to come, stating: “We have long term plans in terms of content releases and support as we move forward.”
Furthermore, Richmond had some good news for those players who participated in Uncharted 3’s multiplayer before the free-to-play version was launched:
“As a thank you for supporting the game, we will also be giving out a few surprises for players that have been playing the full retail disc before the Free-To-Play version was released.”
We’ll keep you updated on what exactly these “surprises” are when Naughty Dog details them in an official announcement.
