The PS3’s XrossMediaBar (XMB) is an efficient, intuitive user interface (UI) but it doesn’t have the visual immediacy and appeal of more recent offerings in this all-important area of a device’s operating system.
As detailed at the PlayStation Meeting 2013, the PS4 will feature a brand new UI which is reminiscent of the PlayStation Store’s new design.
Sony recently released a batch of new screens for the PS4’s UI and the PlayStation Companion App which will be made available on various tablets and smartphones closer to the console’s launch. These screens provide a glimpse at how game pages, user profiles and ‘Share’ features are represented on the PS4.
