No cross-platform play between PS3 and PC for Diablo 3Written by: / / No Comments
One of the exciting reveals to come out of the recent PlayStation Meeting 2013 event was that Diablo 3 would be coming to the PlayStation 3 and eventually to the PlayStation 4, marking the return of Blizzard Entertainment to the home console game development.
Before you go getting too excited though, don’t think that you on your PS3 will be able to team up with PC players running the game on Battle.net. Commenting on the Blizzard forums community manager Vaeflare revealed that there won’t be any cross-platform.
“While we think cross-platform play would be awesome, there are currently no plans to allow connectivity between PlayStation Network and Battle.net (this is pretty standard for most games that have PC and console support). As a result, the characters on your Battle.net account and PlayStation account will also remain separate.”
Vaeflare also revealed that the PlayStation version of Diablo III “will not support USB mice or keyboards”, that’s because “Diablo III for console was designed with a controller in mind.” Similarly there are no plans to allow an analogue controller to hook up to the PC.
