Last week I challenged you to guess five titles that encompassed nineteen years of videogame history. Kudos to Sunny and Gilbert Roland for solving two of the more difficult riddles – Wave Race: Blue Storm and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep respectively.

The games featured in last Tuesday’s challenge were:

  • Game 1: Tiny Toon Adventures (NES) – 1991
  • Game 2: V-Rally: Championship Edition / Need for Speed: V-Rally (PSone/PC) – 1997
  • Game 3: Wave Race: Blue Storm (GameCube) – 2001
  • Game 4: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PSP) – 2010
  • Game 5: Final Fantasy Tactic Advance (GBA) – 2003

Today’s line-up includes a jumbled selection of games I’ve enjoyed over the years.

Here they are:

Game 1:

This game had some very interesting gameplay mechanics and an intriguing plot revolving around time travel. I think many of you would be amazed to discover who developed this title!

Game 2:

An awesome soundtrack and innovative ‘controller’ made this game very appealing to my younger self. I’ve been yearning for a HD remake of this title ever since such conversions became popular.

Game 3:

I didn’t play much of this game but I’ve always been a sucker for ‘point and shoot’ type experiences. There’s something very Zen-like and primitive about shooting at whatever pops up on the screen.

Game 4:

I rented this game out during the early years of a certain console and can recall how impressed I was with the quaint towns you could explore and the character portraits which accompanied conversations with the locals.

Game 5:

This game’s graphics blew my mind at the time as I was pretty much obsessed with pre-rendered backgrounds back then. I even started jotting down how many separate pre-rendered ‘slides’ there were to each environment!

Do any of these games look familiar to you? Do you have fond memories associated with one or two of them? Let us know in the comments.
