Armored Core: Verdict Day announced for Europe and the USWritten by: / / No Comments
Namco Bandai recently sent out the good news to fans of giant robot games that FromSoftware’s latest Armored Core action title will be making its way onto Xbox 360s and PlayStation 3s in the US and Europe this year – are you ready for Verdict Day?
Coming to North America this ‘Summer’ and Europe this ‘Autumn / Fall,’ Armored Core: Verdict Day is FromSoftware’s newest entry to the long-running mech combat series, and brings with it a story of a world in chaos as skirmishes break out between disparate (and desperate) factions around the world, fighting for very rare resources important to their survival.
“A strong trigger finger, innovative customization and strategic teamwork will be all that stand between survival and complete annihilation,” says Namco Bandai. What will you be fighting with? Why, those enormous Armored Core mechs, of course!
Verdict Day will let players command a squadron of Armored Core mechs (said to be “advanced”) in a “dystopian future ravaged by war and stripped of natural resources,” says Namco Bandai. “Players will form squads of up to 20 members and enlist into one of the various in-game factions to wrestle control of territories away from other players in the game’s persistent multiplayer mode.”
New gameplay features are also promised, with options to recruit a squad of AI team-mates, or play co-operatively or in a variety of online modes, “while new matchmaking system ensures that players will always find battles at a moment’s notice.”
Verdict Day will see the return of ‘Operator Mode,’ too, with new upgrades available and the chance to command a full squad of mechs from a tactical top-down view, as you set rally points, mark targets and get a better view of the battlefield with in-cockpit cameras from both AI and human players.
Customisation is once again a heavy focus in this edition of Armored Core with “hundreds of parts ranging from guns, armor pieces, shields and boosters” available to add and swap. Even better is that you’ll be able to import your save data from Armored Core V to bring your old mech configuration into this new game.
Vice President of Marketing for Namco Bandai Games, Carlson Choi, said of the game:
“The Armored Core series has continually found itself a deep and dedicated fanbase. Armored Core: Verdict Day expands the level of immersion with more advanced customization fine tuning and streamlined multiplayer modes.”
So we ask once again – are you ready for Verdict Day?
