2K Games and Irrational have been busy keeping BioShock: Infinite in the spotlight this week, first with two new trailers and screenshots and then the announcement just yesterday that the title has gone gold ahead of its March release date.
Today the publisher and developer has revealed that downloadable content for the upcoming first-person action adventure title is already in production, and unveiled details of the BioShock Infinite Season Pass.
Three new add-on packs are currently in development, and promise to provide “hours of additional gameplay and continue the player’s journey in the sky-city of Columbia with new stories, characters, abilities and weapons.”
The BioShock Infinite Season Pass will be available on March 26th when the game launches worldwide, and will include all three add-on packs. It will cost £15.99 for PC and PlayStation 3 gamers or 1600 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360, but is said to provide nearly £24 of add-on content at a saving of over 30%.
Gamers who purchase the Season Pass will also receive the Early Bird Special Pack for free. It’s a bonus pack that includes “four pieces of exclusive gear, a Machine Gun Damage Upgrade, a Pistol Damage Upgrade, a gold skin for both weapons and five Infusion bottles that allow players to increase their health, their shield durability or their ability to use Vigors by increasing the quantity of Salts they can carry.”
If you pre-order BioShock Infinite you’ll also receive the Industrial Revolution Pack for free. This pack grants exclusive access to “three in-game gear items that boost combat abilities, $500 bonus to in-game currency, five lock picks and the Industrial Revolution puzzle game, which unlocks stories of Columbia and allows players to pledge their allegiance to the Vox Populi or Founders through Facebook.”
Are you keen to extend your BioShock Infinite experience by playing the add-on packs, and are you planning on purchasing the Season Pass for the game?
