Tomorrow’s PlayStation Meeting in New York City is expected to provide the platform for Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal along with the announcement of a wide selection of new, AAA software for the console.
A number of studios are expected to showcase upcoming PS4 titles at the event including Media Molecule, Guerrilla Games and Evolution Studios. Now it seems as though Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream will be joining the fray after the company’s co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière tweeted that he is currently in New York.
Yesterday an official PlayStation YouTube channel also re-uploaded Quantic Dream’s KARA tech demo which is widely believed to form the basis of the studio’s next project codenamed Singularity. In November last year the company registered a domain for “SingularityPS4.com” and studio head David Cage has previously stated that the KARA demo was partially inspired by Raymond Kurzweil’s book “The Singularity is Near”. This book proposes that we’ll be able to augment our bodies and minds using a combination of genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics in the near future.
Will we be seeing more of Singularity during the PlayStation Meeting on February 20th? Share your theories with us in the comments section below.
