Rayman Legends was originally expected to be released alongside the Wii U last year, but the game was delayed to February and more recently to September. Not only did Wii U owners receive the surprise news of the delay, but they also learned that Legends would now be multiplatform.
In an attempt to quell the fan’s outcry Ubisoft then promised to release a new demo for Wii U owners. But it seemed to be a case of too little too late, and needless to say Wii U gamers were upset, and as it turns out so were the development team at Ubisoft Montpelier and Rayman creator Michel Ancel.
Now Ubisoft has announced that a new online challenge mode will be available on the Wii U eShop in April. This mode will be free and exclusive to the Wii U. The new mode will be the first time Rayman has been online, and will feature new challenges daily and weekly for up to five players and features leaderboard support.

Rayman Legends is scheduled to be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U this September. What do you think of this new exclusive mode for Wii U owners, will it help to smooth their disappointment at the delay and multiplatform announcement?
