Activision and Rovio have announced that Angry Birds Trilogy has sold more than 1 million units worldwide. The Trilogy, which includes Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio, is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS.
This sales milestone is a remarkable feat given the Trilogy was only released on September 28th 2012. It’s shown that the addictive gameplay with new stunning HD graphics, new animations, interactive backgrounds and over 150 hours of fun riddled gameplay has secured this franchise a place in the heart of many consumers.
The companies also confirmed that Angry Birds Trilogy will be released for Nintendo Wii U during 2013. Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games for Rovio, has this to say, “It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012. The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we’re excited to release this version to fans.”
Angry Birds Trilogy is available for purchase on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS.
