Ahead of the release of Crysis 2 in 2011, EA and Crytek gave gamers a taste of the multiplayer action in the form of two demos – one exclusively on Xbox 360, and the next on all platforms. The former was downloaded 1.7 million times, which was a massive achievement, while the latter multi-platform demo reached even more of us around the world.
EA recently announced that the just-concluded Crysis 3 multiplayer beta, however, was downloaded over three million times, which the publisher says has helped pre-orders for Crytek’s latest game skyrocket ahead of those for Crysis 2 by an impressive 35 percent. Additionally, the excellent ‘7 Wonders’ video series has been viewed sixteen million times on YouTube on the official Crysis channel alone.
