Media Create Japanese Hardware Sales for week ending February 10th: 3DS’ star continues to riseWritten by: / / No Comments
The latest Media Create hardware charts paint a pretty picture for the 3DS, with Nintendo’s handheld claiming 71% of the console market share in Japan. 3DS sales received a boost from the release of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest VII remake, rising by 64% as a result of strong demand for the game.
Apart from the 3DS, sales are down across the board with the Wii U still managing to stay ahead of the PSP but falling well short of the PS3 in third position.
Meanwhile, PS Vita sales continue to dwindle despite the release of various PSN and retail titles over the past few weeks. Hopefully Sony announces a price cut during its PlayStation Meeting scheduled for February 20th otherwise the handheld is going to have another disappointing year from a sales perspective.
