It looks like Sackboy may get a new adventure before long, as rumours that LittleBigPlanet 3 is in development at Sumo Digital gain momentum.
According to a VG247 source Sumo Digital was approached by Sony and Media Molecule to develop the next game in the popular series, and they have now been working on LittleBigPlanet 3 for “well over a year now.”
Media Molecule is busy with the PS Vita title Tearaway at the moment, and placed Sumo in charge of the cross controller patch for LittleBigPlanet 2 last year.
With LittleBigPlanet releasing on the PlayStation 3 in 2008, a PSP game in 2009, LittleBigPlanet 2 in 2011 as well as LittleBigPlanet Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting in 2012, it makes sense that Sony would continue the franchise. The main question is will LittleBigPlanet 3 be released on the PlayStation 4?
Sony’s response? “We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.”
