The multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) genre of games has sky-rocketed in popularity in recent years, and this form of strategic action title seems to have overshadowed the allure of massively multiplayer online games, not only in terms of player count but also in terms inciting a new virtual gold rush for developers to create the next big MOBA for fans.
While all players have their own favourites, Valve’s Dota 2 is extremely high profile at the moment and while the company’s plans for the future of the game are simultaneously exciting and mysterious, we’re looking forward to seeing how the fight for MOBA supremacy plays out in 2013.
Today, we’re inviting you to investigate Dota 2 by giving away ten beta keys for use on Valve’s PC digital distribution service, Steam, allowing you to download the currently-on-the-go test and see what all the fuss is about for yourself!
For a chance to snag a code, all you’ll need to do is hit us up on Twitter by tweeting the following phrase – just hit the link and click Tweet:
You can also comment at this Facebook page post for a chance to win a code.
In order to redeem the code, you’ll need to be signed up on Steam, before adding El33tOliver (that’s me!) as a friend so we can gift the code to you. (Psst, you don’t have to stay Steam friends with me, but my feelings may be a little hurt if you don’t…)
So do you want a beta key to play Dota 2? It’s very easy to get one, so don’t hesitate to hit that link and request a code!
Special thanks to Oltman for providing the codes for the give away!
Note: Steam now requires that you have purchased an item on the store before being able to add friends on the service.
