Following on from the developer’s enormous successes with Pinball FX and Zen Pinball, Zen Studios has announced its next journey into the world of flippers, exotic artwork and furiously rolling metal balls!
Star Wars Pinball is coming…
Due for release in February, Star Wars Pinball is being developed at Zen Studios in association with LucasArts and will feature a collection of tables with memorable moments from Star Wars history in mind.
To begin with, an initial three-table pack will become available that will be themed around Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, featuring interactive 3D characters (including Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano) and unique pinball gameplay specific to the franchise
Zen Studios’ Creative Director, Neil Sorens, said of Star Wars Pinball:
“It’s been over 30 years since Star Wars, videogames, and solid state pinball all burst onto the entertainment scene, and their popularity endures today. We’re excited to be combining all three for the very first time.
“Our designers are huge Star Wars fans, and you can expect every detail in every table to reflect their passion for the Star Wars universe.”
How can you get your hands on the tables? Star Wars Pinball will be made available as downloadable content for the following Zen Studios pinball platforms:
- Pinball FX2 on Xbox LIVE Arcade & Windows 8
- Zen Pinball 2 on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 & PlayStation Vita (with Cross Buy entitlement – purchase once and play on both systems)
- Zen Pinball 2 on the Mac App Store
- Zen Pinball on the Apple App Store
- Zen Pinball HD Google Play™
Star Wars Pinball will also come standard with the chance to post your scores to a global leaderboard, with in-game friend challenges, local hotseat play, online multiplayer and “a host of other features” promised.
