The current console generation has been somewhat lacking in high quality Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs) released outside their country of origin. Thankfully Level-5 and Studio Ghibli have combined their considerable talents to produce the magnificent Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch which launches across PAL territories today.

The game features plenty of traditional JRPG elements such as a world map to traverse and many large towns to explore, along with innovative new gameplay mechanics that will change your perception of what kind of story a JRPG can tell. Combine these features with beautiful art direction and hand-drawn cut-scenes by Studio Ghibli, and you have one of the best PlayStation 3 exclusives released so far.
