Companies the world over are beginning to publicly announce quarterly results nestled in their respective financial years, and Nintendo is no different having recently revealed a number of very impressive sales figures for some of its top games across DS, 3DS and Wii U.
Pokemon Black and White 2 (combined sales) lead the pack with lifetime sales of over seven million units, followed closely by New Super Mario Bros 2 with nearly six million copies sold.
Here’s the full list of Nintendo best sellers, including data compiled up to the end of December 31st:
Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS) ‒ 2.73 million (Japanese sales only)
New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS) ‒ 5.96 million
New Super Mario Bros. U (Wii U) ‒ 2.01 million
Nintendo Land (Wii U ‒ 2.33 million (including Wii U pack-in sales)
Pokémon Black/White 2 (DS) ‒ 7.63 million
Any surprises here? Of course we expect Pokemon to run riot with every release, but Animal Crossing did especially well, and that’s Japan only!
Any recent Nintendo games you’re surprised didn’t make it into the list of millions? And what do you think of the sales prospects of Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U games, which were announced and confirmed last week?
