It is Thursday, the last day of January 2013, but more importantly it’s Guess the Game time again!
Last week I challenged you all with some platformer and side-scroller games, and some of you guessed the first game really quickly! Here are the games we challenged you with last week:
- 1.) Heart of Darkness – 1998
- 2.) Superfrog – 1993
- 3.) Jetpack – 1983
- 4.) James Pond 2 : Codename Robocod – 1991
- 5.) Robin Hood – 1991
Today we continue our themed Guess the Game features with some classic retro racing games. Some of them are well known, but even if they’re unknown they did bring some joy to my life. How well do you know your racers?
Game 1:
I am a huge motorbike racing game fan and I’m excited about the announcement of a new MotoGP. This game wasn’t just about racing bikes, but off-road motorbikes too. I remember my favourite level was the Great Wall of China. This game also had a on-board view, which was epic.
Game 2:
The reason for the on-board shot is that I think this was the coolest camera view you could get. Plus, if you saw the car you would know what game this is… This was also one of the first games where you could have painted your car the way you wanted.
Game 3:
A few weeks ago we had a game on Guess the Game called ‘Ignition.’ This game is just like that one… but different! You raced RC cars in malls, toy shops and a normal family neighbourhood, too. It also had some power-up pickups during a race.
Game 4:
Everyone is going to know what this game is. I still play it today on my Android. If you don’t know what it is, then you are very young.
Game 5:
This is an old school retro racer. You didn’t actually race other cars, but you had some epic tracks with loops and ramps you had to drive along. The game also had a nice track editor.
So can you guess all these games? Good luck.
