Media Create reveals Japan’s best-selling games of 2012

Japanese sales tracker Media Create has released a list detailing the thirty best-selling titles of 2012. Only three games managed to sell over a million copies, and interestingly they all appeared on one of Nintendo’s handheld platforms.

Pokémon Black/White 2 for DS sold just under 3 million copies between its release on June 23rd and the end of the year, while Animal Crossing: New Leaf for 3DS sold just short of 2 million copies in two months. Meanwhile, New Super Mario Bros. 2 went on sale on July 28th and shifted 1 743 791 copies in five months.

The best-selling title for a home console during 2012 was the PS3 version of Resident Evil 6 with 833 012 copies sold.
